True Story Theater invites middle schoolers and incoming high schoolers (ages 11-14) to two playful improvisational theatre workshops!
REGISTER
Wednesday, August 12 at 11-12pm ET.
Playback Theatre is a form of improvisational theater in which actors dramatize audience member’s real-life stories without scripts. In the workshop, True Story Theater educators teach Playback forms to students and invite everyone to share their stories— big and small!
In a recent youth workshop, one participant exclaimed “I don’t know how anyone could be bored doing this workshop!” In this upcoming class for 11 – 14 year olds looking to challenge their acting, listening, and empathetic skills, we will seek to have just as much fun!
During this workshop, we will encourage students to tell stories, take risks to independently playback scenes, and learn specific Playback forms through guided modeling and many opportunities to practice.
