We’ve got new stories to tell and to hear: stories that connect us in new and extraordinary ways to ourselves and to each other. Please join True Story Theater for one or more Zoom performances, as we share and listen to stories, bringing them to life through Playback Theatre—improvisational, interactive enactments of audience members’ stories aimed to offer empathy, healing, and connection.
Our trained team of actors will listen to and reflect your experiences—your challenges, hopes, surprises, gratitude, and dreams for the future. Audience members can volunteer to share stories, or can choose to simply watch. The event will include community-building moments (with all participants on video) as well as short “break-outs” to speak in smaller groups.
The Covid-19 pandemic continues to move our lives From the Ordinary to the Extraordinary—and back again. We’re navigating the uncertainty, challenges, and sometimes unexpected joys of staying at home; the courage and fear of working on the frontlines of the crisis; the heartbreak of losing loved ones; and the unexpected new digital connections, and newness in the familiarity of home. And we’re finding out how we can care for one another, how we can ask for help, and how we—individually and collectively, in-person and digitally—are finding new ways to sustain ourselves and each other.
This True Story Theater performance series is supported in part by the Board of Directors.
Donations to support True Story Theater welcome. (Please make a note of the date of the show)
