About performances & classes

A Playback performance is more than just entertainment. Audience members laugh, cry, get insights about their life, and feel an expanded sense of community. You can share a moment from your life and see it performed, or just come to watch. We perform monthly in Arlington plus additional shows around town.

Our Playback classes are friendly, informal, and intimate, an enriching experience for both newcomers and experienced actors.

RSVP & Support TST here
This is our biggest fundraiser of the year. Please contribute at the highest level that works for you.
Your support helps bring this unique theater of empathy to many people, especially to communities that do not have the budget to hire us at our regular prices, so we can offer powerful spaces for this work to be much more accessible.

Why come?

Support True Story
Know that your donation matters: we must match the important grant we received from the National Endowment for the Arts.

Discover
Learn more of the social impact of True Story’s recent work throughout greater Boston. See mini-performances related to two of our current themes: (1) climate change, (2) diversity and inclusion in our community.

Connect
Come to our best party of the year and chat personally with our many cool actors and fans. We want to see you!

Have fun
Relish good food, friends, performances, improv games, but gift certificates to local restaurants, & more…

True Story Theater does 75-100 public and private performances and workshops a year. Our theater aims to honor untold stories from many under-represented and marginalized communities, including this year with people with disabilities, people in recovery from drug and alcohol abuse, LGBTQ+ youth and seniors, and others. In the past year, we have led Active Bystander Intervention workshops in partnership with several towns’ Human Rights Commissions and schools.

We hope you can join us!
Can’t attend but would like to be part of our circle of donors? Wonderful! Make a donation here or contact Amber(at)TrueStoryTheater.org to make other arrangements.

Donations are tax deductible.
